New Release!! Author Elise Hepner

Congrats on your newest release, Elise Hepner and thank you for celebrating with us :)

Title: Furious Temptation
Genre: Paranormal Erotic Romance

For millennia Megaera, a Fury, has functioned as Hades right hand by passing judgment on demons who break the sacred laws. Stalwart in her  moral compass, but harboring a curse triggered by rage, she walks a thin line between perfection and destruction. But when she digs into a case  uncovering a string of demon rapes, she incites a war with Mount Olympus that could ripple chaos throughout the ages.

Omen Cole was demon made during the Civil War after repeated torture at the hands of his enemies.  Sentenced to an eternity as watchdog over  his emotionally frail, once human ex-wife, he’s haunted that he couldn’t save her from a brutal assault.

Now it’s happened again. And Megaera needs his testimony. Omen will sell his body—and anything else—to avenge his fragile ex-wife. If that means  an alliance with Megaera, he’ll make it the most memorable of their eternity.

“Give me a chance, you won’t regret it. You want out of this situation as much as we do. It would be more than worth your trouble, I would guarantee that for you.” His fingers skipped across my collarbone until my fingers shook at my sides and I shoved them onto the edge of the bookcase behind me. I held onto the antique wood and pain twisted up my wrists. But he didn’t move back. His lips remained poised against my ear, our hair mingled, and his fingers danced on the only expanse of naked flesh on my body.
“What are you talking about?”
“Don’t you know by now?”
I couldn’t see his eyes, but judging from his tone they were twinkling and bright with mischief. All the anger he’d been carrying, every stubborn action had been wiped away and replaced with misleading flirtation. And as much as I wanted to doubt him—he was good. Embarrassingly so. Omen’s every attention spanned into a gapping chasm of sex I’d all but put under lock and key. And then I swallowed that key. Yet his teasing voice, small bursts of air from his conversation, still licked across my skin in invisible caresses down my neck.
“Why don’t you tell me.”
If he was truly insinuating what I thought he was whispering in my ear under lock and key as my prisoner I wanted him to say the words. Because I couldn’t imagine he was desperate enough to make the proposition outright. While my fingers scrambled, I navigated the murkiness of my thoughts. If only he’d draw away. As if he meant to break me down bodily before making me take leave of my senses. With the knowledge of his manipulation came the tendrils of my anger that I’d been tamping down all day, trying to bank the embers. Suppression was a nasty business.
As sexy as he wanted this little meeting to be, I had a lovely secret weapon tucked in my pocketless skirt suit. My rage had never been my friend before, but if she would keep me from making a reckless mistake, right this second she was my BFF. Omen shifted as if he knew something between us had changed. Surely the atmosphere between us crackled with a different energy, one far more deadly than the reason I had wanted my hands wound around his neck.
“I’ll do anything you want, be anyone you want, if you give me this chance. Taking you into my bed would be far from a hardship. In fact, I’ll go farther. I can’t stop thinking about you beneath me. How well I’d love to treat your repressed little body so that my name echoes in your mind because you’ve been crying it out for so many hours. I’ll make this risk in the investigation merely a bump to get my attention, for as long as you’ll have me. And for both our sakes, I hope you keep me for a while. I don’t get bored easily.”
As his lies slid across my neck I did the first thing that came to mind. While he was lost in his seductive ploy, I lunged, wrapped my hand around his throat, and threw us both back onto the bed so I was straddling him, pinning both his hands above his head. For a beat I couldn’t recall whether or not my move was intentionally sexual or not—but here we were—and judging by his obnoxious smirk he had a fine idea.
But I only needed one hand to pin down his wrists, so I shifted in a blink and clasped my other hand around his throat, erasing his cocky expression, as if I’d drained the light from the room. His neutral expression held all the calculation of someone very, very careful. And though I’m sure he wished to, he didn’t move a muscle beneath me. Well, expect for the betrayal of his cock, which hardened between my thighs as my skirt rode up higher on my outer thighs and I tried my best to act as if I wasn’t enjoying our little moment together. I’d lose my high ground if I let the smallest moan slip. No matter how hard it was to ignore his pleasant pressure between my legs as his hard cock rubbed against my pussy.
I tried to remind myself I held all the cards when his gaze locked with mine. Neither of us spoke a word, waiting for my answer to his ludicrous proposition. He couldn’t be serious. Not when his charm and good looks got him in with my secretary as much as any other woman he’d seduced in his lifetime. I was one of many, of that I was certain. Even if he did look at me as if I was something special. And I’m sure he would have fought my silent accusations—if I’d given him room to speak.
“Even if for a second I didn’t see past your charade, Omen, I wouldn’t entertain the thought because it very clearly breaks several codes of ethics. But thanks, for the offer. I really, really appreciate it.”
With a look of smug wickedness I put emphasis into my words with every slow tilt of my hips against him as I held him immobile against his bed. His eyes flashed. Whether with anger or arousal I couldn’t care. Instead I slowly untangled us, tugged my skirt, and smoothed it with my hands. Omen lay on the bed as if I hadn’t gotten off of him. When he rubbed his neck with a few low noises in the back of his throat, I didn’t hold an ounce of guilt for my actions. Even if I still sensed him flush against my pussy.
“You still haven’t rejected my prior offer. Does that mean it’s off the table even without the incentive?”
“No. If it means making my job any easier I’ll allow you to see Claudette and follow your plan, but if it doesn’t work expect me to be beyond displeased. And you won’t enjoy me when I’m angry.”
“Oh, I don’t know. I think I can find many different ways to enjoy you.”
He half sat, leaning on his hands on the bed so I got a peek at his bare chest through the straining buttons of his button down which was rolled up at the sleeves. I crossed my arms and raised my eyebrows. I wasn’t so gullible to fall for his act. No man had wooed me before now and none would unless a group orgy was involved. Granted, what Omen was offering was very one on one—but he only offered his body as a substitute for manipulation. By taking him to my bed I’d be belaying a weakness in my character.
And I had many flaws, but weakness wasn’t one of them.
I silently reminded myself of that as Omen straightened up entirely before wincing at the tent of his pants. I wish I could have felt sorry for him, but my mind was otherwise occupied with our more pressing problem. His erection would go away eventually and I would continue dodging his roguish comments so long as the investigation lasted. If he didn’t get sentenced for Claudette’s crime then the possibility of entertaining him in a less formal capacity in my bedroom slunk around in the back of my mind—but the likelihood of that was slim.
As if Omen read my mind he smiled but it didn’t quite reach his eyes.
“How do we proceed?”

In the mood for a Spring Fling? Well, you're in luck! My newest release is coming soon. Long Overdue, River Jewel Resort Book 3 will be releasing in May 2014 and today I'm sharing the cover reveal with all of you:

Isn't it gorgeous? Please check out the blurb and excerpt below:

After a decade of working at the campus library, a scandal involving a student leaves Olivia Milan unemployed and able to spend much more time with her best friend, Matt. She’s always been attracted to Matt Osgood, but believes he’ll never feel the same about her. When he heads out of town for the weekend, Olivia takes the opportunity to visit the River Jewel Resort with the hope of getting a new job. However, what she finds when she arrives proves life can be stranger than fiction.

Romance author, Matt Osgood, has been in love with the same woman for a very long time, but he thinks she’ll never return his feelings. Years of going to the River Jewel Resort have allowed him to live out his every fantasy. Still, he aches for a real emotional connection to the woman he truly loves.

Can the River Jewel Resort turn fantasy into a reality for these two best friends? Or will they run in opposite directions when confronted with the truth?

“Not enough pay. Not enough hours. Not enough clothing.” She tossed the red marker across the room. “This newspaper is full of shitty jobs. There has to be something in this town I’m qualified to do.”

“Have you considered starting your own tantric-tutoring classes at the Y?” Matt waved his napkin as Olivia threw him an evil glare.

“Hardy-har-har. Are you ever going to let that go? It happened over a month ago.”

“I know, but I still wish I had been there to see it. I’m afraid the images in my mind of you and the Professor rolling around in your office just don’t do the real thing justice.”

“You know it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the old man still sits around picturing the two of you getting each other off while he jerks off in that disgusting office of his.”

“Really? Did you have to go there? I feel dirty just thinking about it. Gross. I still can’t believe I let my libido take control of me.”

“Just kidding, babe. Tell you what, if you promise to go to River Jewel while I’m in Chicago doing actual work this weekend, I’ll stop teasing you about the senior-shag when I return.”

Olivia rolled her eyes. “Liar. You’re enjoying this.”

“Well, yeah, but I promise to stop. Besides, I overheard someone last night say that they’re putting a bookstore in at the Resort, on the third floor. That tells me they’re hiring and who better to run a bookstore than you?”

“No way.” She was speechless. A bookstore! It had been years since she’d been in an actual bookstore. Working at the library, reading Matt’s books and the ease of online shopping had supported her need for books for years. To be employed at a shop full of her favorite things would be amazing! Just the thought of working in one made her panties wet.

For Olivia, books had always been everything. The way they smelled when one opened them  and the feel of them in her hands was like a drug. This was one of the many reasons she’d loved her job at the library. She could be closest to the things that made her happy.

One night after the library closed, her love of sex and fiction came together in an amazing way. She’d snuck in with a guy and they’d made love on top of one of the long, mahogany tables. Olivia had never felt more alive than that night. She’d been surrounded by new and old authors, their famous works standing at attention, surrounding them. Their stories of happily-ever-afters calling to her as she milked every drop from her ex’s shaft and after that, screwing in the library had become the only thing that came close to satisfying her.

Her fiancĂ©, Randy, had never been into anything she wanted or needed and for a long time, she’d thought it was her fault. Olivia had tried to be everything Randy Davis desired and it took her a long time to realize that no one could have made him happy. His insatiability rivaled hers but he preferred to satisfy his needs with other people behind Olivia’s back.

If she had known what he was doing, she never would’ve stayed with him for as long as she did. Looking back, she had wasted so much time and she’d cried enough tears to fill the Ohio River. If only she had met Matt sooner. Maybe their lives would’ve been different. Straddling Matt on a library table, riding him until they were both raw and exhausted would be so perfect.

“Hellooo. Earth to Olivia.” Matt snapped his fingers in her face. “Where’d you go? Oh, you were thinking about Tim, the quarterback again, weren’t you?”

Busted. “Not exactly. Okay, maybe.”

“You were! Library sex flashbacks? I’m so jealous!” He teased. “I’ve never known anyone to hold on to a memory of an ex like you have.” Did she sense a bit of real jealousy in his tone?

Maybe it was a fantasy of you that I was thinking about. She’d seen how well-endowed Matt was. Helping him get into and out of the shower safely every other day had played a huge part in her need to be taken by a man, any man. Thinking back, she should’ve spoken up sooner. Maybe their lives would be different if she had. An author and a librarian were a perfect match. She’d give him plenty of inspiration for his books and he’d fulfill all of her fantasies. But what if she was wrong?

Coming May 2014. Until then, please take a moment to check out Books 1 and 2 at Secret Cravings Publishing. Now the fun part: To celebrate Spring and all things love and romance, I'm giving away one ebook of he first story in this series: Anything You Want, River Jewel Resort, Book 1

Secret Cravings' Secret Recipes: Author Tamara Hoffa

Happy Easter Eve, everyone! I hope you're all having a great weekend. We're busy, busy, busy preparing for the Easter Bunny's arrival, but we wanted to make sure we shared another fabulous recipe with you.

Tamara Hoffa has graciously joined us once again and she's brought a recipe that's quite fetching :) Please give her a warm welcome...

Hi guys! It’s Tamara Hoffa again. It’s Saturday and I have a new release coming soon and a new recipe for you today.
Fetching Love releasing May 2.

 Here’s an excerpt:

With a jaunty wave Chad headed home to meet his brother for lunch. He pulled out his phone and speed dialed his mom. She answered on the second ring. “Circle R Ranch.”
“You didn’t look at the caller ID did you, Mom?”
Laughing she said. “No, I didn’t. I’m up to my armpits in tomatoes and just grabbed it.”
“Tomatoes? Are you making sauce?” he asked eagerly.
“Yes, I am and I could use some help peeling all these tomatoes.”
“I’m on my way home. Have a paring knife ready for me. Did Chase tell you he was coming up to the house for lunch?”
“Yes, he did. I’m focusing on dinner for our guests tonight, so you boys will have to make due with sandwiches.”
“How ‘bout I stop at the deli and pick up some subs and chips?”
“That sounds wonderful. I’ll take a turkey with lettuce tomato and mayo, no onions.”
“You got it, Ma. I’ll see you in few minutes.”
“’Kay.” She hung up without saying goodbye, typical of his mother when she was cooking.
Chad found his mother exactly where he expected her to be, at the kitchen counter. He set the bag of food on the table and came up behind her, giving her waist a quick squeeze and kissing her cheek. “Got that knife ready for me?”
“You betcha. Over there, by the other cutting board. There’s about a half a bushel left to peel.”
Chad flinched inwardly, that was a lot of tomatoes, but for Mom’s sauce it was worth it. He picked up the knife and started pealing. “So, are you making the sauce for tonight? What are we having?”
“Some of it is for tonight, yes. The rest I’ll freeze. I’m making stuffed shells.”
Chad’s mouth watered at the thought. His mom’s shells were the best and if he wasn’t mistaken he smelled fresh bread baking. “Homemade garlic bread too?”
“Yes, and salad.”
“What’s for dessert?”
“I hadn’t really decided yet. Are you angling for something in particular?”
“You know what I want, Ma.”
“Cheesecake,” they said at the same time with a laugh.
The back door swung open and Chase sauntered in. “Hi, Ma. It smells great in here.” He snatched a slice of tomato from the board in front of her and she slapped at his hand. “Get out of that, you. The tomatoes are for the sauce.”
“You’re making sauce and Sam and I didn’t get an invite for dinner?” He gave her his best puppy dog face.
“We’re having Megan and Doc over for dinner,” Chad interjected before his mother could speak.
“I’m making plenty. I’ll send some home with you and you can make my Samantha some nice spaghetti for dinner.”
Chase looked crestfallen. “Aww, come on Ma. You know I hate to cook.”
“Yes, I know, but Sam has been working too hard and she is big as a house. It’s the least you can do for her. All you have to do is boil up some noodles.”
“I’m telling her you said she was big as a house,” he teased.
Wiping her hands on her apron she placed her hands on her hips and gave her middle son the stare. Chad turned back to his tomatoes so he didn’t get caught in the crossfire. “I beg your pardon, young man. Did you just threaten your mother?”
Chad struggled to keep a straight face, laughing now would earn him a smack in the head, but it was so funny to see his itty bitty mother squaring off with her six foot plus son. Watching out of the corner of his eye he saw Chase drop his head and mutter, “No, ma’am. I was only teasing.”
Chad bit his cheek and continued to peel tomatoes.
“Shoo, you two. Get out of my kitchen. Go eat your lunch in the living room.” She took the knife from Chad’s hand and pushed him toward the door.

So can you guess today’s recipe? Momma Ryan’s Stuffed shells with tomato/basil cream sauce (Maybe I’ll share grandma Kate’s cheesecake one day, if you twist my arm)  My son has been a vegetarian for the last twelve years and I came up with this recipe for him. I will warn you I don’t really measure so ingredient amounts are approximated… and I only know how to make enough for an army!

2 large cans tomato sauce
1 quart heavy cream
3 cups fresh chopped basil
1tsp sugar
¼ cup red wine
Simmer low for 1 hour – do not boil!

Shell Filling:
4 cups Ricotta cheese
2 cups grated Mozzarella cheese
1 cup grated Romano cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan/ Asiago cheese
1 cup diced mushrooms
½ cup diced sweet onions
6 cloves minced garlic
4 cups chopped fresh Spinach
2 TBLS butter
1 TBLS olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste

In medium skillet melt butter and add olive oil, sauté onions mushrooms and garlic until soft, add spinach and cook just until wilted. Set aside to cool.

In large bowl combine all cheeses and add cooled vegetable mixture. Season. Stir thoroughly.
Prepare 2 Lbs Jumbo shells per package directions, drain and cool.

Stuff shells with cheese/vegetable mixture and place in a shallow baking dish ( I use an industrial 20 x 30 pan)  2- 9 x 13 pans will work. Cover shells with sauce and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Mange! Moulte Bene!

Thanks so much for stopping by, Tamara! Good luck on your new release and I hope you have a wonderful Easter with your family.

Readers, as always, thank you so much for joining us. We hope you have a great weekend. From our families and from our publishing family at Secret Cravings, we wish you all a magical Easter filled with many blessings :)

Secret Cravings' Secret Recipes: Author V.L. Locey

Welcome to another great day for a recipe! Today, we have V.L. Locey visiting us and she's brought a great summertime dish to share with all of us. Please give her a warm welcome :)

Hi everyone! Thanks to Madison for having me on.

For many of us here in the States, potato salad is a summertime staple. I can`t imagine a cookout without it! Having a Fin/Swede goalie as a leading man in my latest hockey romance, I spent some time digging around for recipes to use in the book. When I stumbled across this recipe for Finnish potato salad, I just had to pass it along! While it might not be the same as what we make here in Pennsylvania, I bet it would be a big hit at any meal!

Finnish Potato Salad
8 boiled potatoes
1 apple
1-2 pickled cucumbers
1 red onion
2 tbsp capers
200 g sour cream (or around 7/8ths of a cup)
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2-3 garlic cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Cut the peeled potatoes, the apple and the cucumbers into small cubes. Peel and chop the onion. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Mix the dressing ingredients together and combine with the salad. Allow to settle in a cool place before serving.

Painfully shy Liz Argon probably shouldn`t be dreaming of Veikko Aho, star goalie for the Philadelphia Wildcats. As she works side by side with 'The Count of the Crease' on his memoirs, she finds herself falling for the handsome goaltender. His tender ways with her and her mentally fragile mother are slowly claiming her heart. If only Veikko wasn`t already engaged to a woman far better suited to move in to 'The Count`s' world. In book two of the To Love a Wildcat series, we`ll see if a glass slipper can survive in the rough and tumble world of professional ice hockey.

Thanks so much V.L. :) I always love having visitors. Hope to see you again soon!

Secret Cravings' Secret Recipes: Author Beverly Ovalle

Welcome to Secret Recipes. As you all know, the authors you love know how to cook up some amazing romances. But, did you know that most of us also love to cook, bake and grill? Sometimes our characters even request that we make something they like just so we can share it with you, the readers. This is the place for you to find all of those recipes. So come on in and share a bite to eat with your favorite authors. Let's get cookin'!

Happy Tuesday! Please give a warm welcome to Beverly Ovalle. She's here to share one of her all-time favorite recipes :)

This is my favorite summer dessert! We light up the fire pit and hunt out the sticks.

S'mores!  Have you had any?

A package of Hershey's Chocolate Bars
The super sized marshmallows (you can use the normal ones)
Box of Honey Graham Crackers

Easy right?

Get the fire going.

Crack a graham cracker in half and do the same with a Hershey's bar. You can use both pieces of chocolate for one s'more. I do. :D Put the chocolate on the graham cracker.

Set aside.

Put the super size marshmallow on a stick, center it so it doesn't fall off! This is a very important step!

Hold the marshmallow in the flames, rotating it so the heat and toastiness is even. Now, you have 2 choices. When your marshmallow is golden brown you can put it on the chocolate, using the other chocolate/graham cracker to pull the marshmallow off, leaving it's yummy goodness to melt the chocolate for a bit before gobbling it down.

Me, I hold the marshmallow in the flames until it catches fire, rotating it until the fluffy white goodness could torch down a house. When it is evenly on fire, I blow it out, eat the first torching, and then place the yummy melted goodness between the chocolate/graham cracker sandwich!

The rest of the family only uses two squares of chocolate, so it is cracker, 2 chocolate squares, marshmallow and cracker.

I swear they're not mine!

I thought a fire recipe appropriate because my book Lightning Strike takes place while camping. Levi spends most of his time wandering the great outdoors, taking pictures of remote spots around the world. This time, he is visiting land owned by his family, a mountain glen they have protected for generations.

Lightning Strike
By Beverly Ovalle
Publisher:  Secret Cravings Publishing

Tag Line:
Levi’s life changes in an instant when lightning strikes, tumbling Daphnaie into his arms as he becomes her savior and she becomes his every dream.
For generations Levi’s family had guarded a sacred glen in the mountains.  Still far from man this isolated area was a favorite spot of his grandfather.  Levi grew up listening to his tales and fell in love without ever having stepped foot there.
Now Levi’s family, led by his grandmother, wanted to sell the land.  With only his grandfather and Levi against it, Levi has to prove to the rest of the family why they needed to continue their guardianship.  Believing in his grandfather’s tales despite himself, Levi went armed with his camera and his well-known expertise behind the lens and headed out for proof.
Providing that proof and protecting the secrets of the glen from the world, Gaia needs to convince Levi to continue that protection.  Daphnaie, the embodiment of his every dream, is sent to show him why, stealing his heart in the process to save her world.

Thanks so much, Beverly! See you next week :)
